Alice Ludewig and Merit Zloch first met in 2001 in Northern Germany and stayed in contact since then. When Alice moved to Berlin to study the dream of a harp duo with Bohemian lever harps came true. Both instruments are even from the same harp makers workshop!
Alice Ludewig got her first harp lesson in 2003, followed by 10 years of classical harp training as well as by workshops with several traditonal harp players and jazz harpists. Many of the duos arrangements are fuelled from this creative pool.
Merit Zloch plays the harp since the beginning of the 90s. Amongst others she is a musician with the ensemble for early music musica romana and a former member of Malbrook, a Northern German folk project. Merit Zloch teaches harp and ensemble play at workshops, gives single lessons and organises an annual musicians meeting and an instrumental workshop weekend.
